Dr. Sun-Yat-Sen has issued a remarkable Note to the Powers, stigmatising Suan-Shih-Kai as the champion of the Hanchus. Wu-Teng-Fang telegraphed, demanding the abdication of the Throne, saying that otherwise hostilities will be resumed today. li-Yuan-Heng is preparing to lead the Wuchang revolutionaries northwards. Yuan-Shih-Kai is endeavoring to secure the extension of the armistice. Seven thousand of Yuan-Shih-Kai's troops have reached Pekin, thereby removing the Manchu menace. Tieh-Liang has fled to Tientsin. It is understood a memorial presented by the generals impresses the throne ■gainst contemplating immediate abdication. Advanced posts, numbering thousands of men on each side, we r e engaged in a conflict on Satnrday at Tientsin. At Pukow railway the revolutionaries retreated, abandoning the camp. HEAVY DEATH TOLL. Pekin, January 28. One hundred and fifty bodies have been recovered from the ruins of the powder magazine blown up by revolutionaries at old Suidun, when General Ghintai perished. The search continues. A REPUBLIC DEMANDED. Pekin, January 28. Imperialist generals have memorialised the Throne, demanding a republic.
