The Post states that though no date has been definitely fixed for hearing the Wairau election petition, it will probably be on March 18, at Blenheim, before Justices Williams and Chapman. A PRISONER'S DEATH. Auckland, Saturday. Edward Kirby, a prisoner from Mount Eden gaol, died at the hospital Under circumstances which, it is considered, warrant a| coronial enquiry. He ■ was serving a sentence of seven years' hard labor, and lip.d been incarcerated since 1908. He is said to have suffered from miner's, complaint. THE SEAMEN'S CONCESSIONS. Wellington, Saturday.
