WORKS TO BE ERECTED IN NEW PLYMOUTH. A start is at last to be made with the working of the Taranaki ironsand deposits. Last year, it will be rememhejed, the New Plymouth Harbor Board Jpnted the Cadman syndicate a renewal of the lease they held of the beach near the • harbor conditionally on their erecting ' works with which to treat the sand before the 31st March, 1012, and depositing a substantial sura of money as a guarantee. Mr. D. Macfarlane, of ChrUtchurch, one of the larger shareholders in the syndicate, was in town last week, and interviewed the Harbor Board. As a result, he has arranged to make a start with the erection of the plant. Whatever plant can be procured in the Dominion will be put on the site at once, whilst the heavier plant will be imported as quickly as possible.
