ST. MARY'S.

The institution of the Rev. A. H. Colville to the living of St. Mary' 6by Dr. Croasley, Bishop of Auckland, yesterday, is a matter of keen interest to the people of Taranaki and all who take pride in the historic church.. Great and faithful work 'has been done by former vicars, and it is a matter for sincere congratulation thfrt this work -should be carried forward by a, vicar who comes with an excellent reputation as a churchman and as a citizen* There is not in New Zealand a living that offers more interesting work than that of St., Mary's, and none in which the support and lwe of a congregation can be more readily gained by a vicar with his heart in the parish: The Rev. Mr. Colville succeeds the Rev. F. G. Evans, whose record of achievement is a proud one. We sincerely congratulate Mr. Evans on his preferment as Archdeacon of Taranaki, and desire most to add our welcome to those already received by the new vicar.
