Mr. Fisher promised' favorable consideration of an application for a Government contribution towards the cost of sending a team of athletes to the Olympic Games. AUCKLAND'S CRACK RUNNER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At a meeting last night to go into the question of raising funds to send Auckland's crack distance runner, G. N. Hill, to Sweden to compete as a New Zealand representative in the Olympic Games, it was decided that the matter be taken in hand by the committee of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club and that subscription lists be opened, and circulars explaining the object issued. The sum of £l5O is required, but it is not anticipated that there will be any difficulty in raisino- this , amount. ' D ' 1
