LAWN TENNIS.
WELLINGTON MEETING. By Telegraph—fiase Association. Wellington, Last Night. With the exception of the men's championship singles, combined championship doubles and ladies' handicap doubles, which will probably be played on Saturday in Wellington, the provincial lawn : tennis association's thirteenth annual tournament concluded to-day. Miss_ E. Travers defeated Miss E. Williams in the final of the ladies' championship singles, 9—7, 6—4. The men's handicap singles was won by S. J. Sampson, who defeated L. S Curtis, 60—47. H. W. Brown and L. Hawkins beat W. J. Robertson and C. Taylor in the final of the men's handicap doubles, 70—63. Miss K. Mcintosh was defeated by Miss N. Curtis in the final of the ladies' handicap singles, 52—50. The combined handicap doubles went to Miss Brewster and Brown, who defeated Miss Davis and Crewes, 60—43. WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIPS. Masterton, Last Night. The Wairarapa lawn tennis championship meeting was continued to-day in fine weather. In the men's championship singles G Ollivier beat G. G. Aitken in the final! 6—4, 6—3. G. G. Aitken and W. Pearce beat G. ' Olhvier and C. A. Cuff in the men's ' championship doubles. 6—3, fi—4. ' In the ladies' championship singles ! Miss N. Hartgill defeated Miss Williams '. 6—l, 6—o. Misses Payton' and Hughes defeated Misses Williams and Hartgill in the ladies' championship doubles, 9—5. In the combined-championship doubles, J G. Ollivier and Miss Hartgill beat G. G. Aitken and Miss Cave, 6—3, 6—3 C. A. Cuff beat R. B. Varton in" the |' A grade handicap singles, and R. W. ' * Reed beat S. Holdsworth in the B grade. *
