J James Hanrahan, ex-president of the ' Illinois Central Company, Frank Met- ' chior, second vice-president of the Rock ' Island Company, L Pierav general so-, ' • lieitor of the Rock Island Company, and ' other officials were killed liy a collision 1 of two Illinois Central trains. The en- ! gine of one train ploughed its way through a private car containing the officials. The cause of the collision was the extra delay due to one train failing to take water at the ordinary stopping place. No ordinary passengers were killed.
