The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— Sain fell in many parts on Saturday and Sunday, and the winds changed to ■outherly on Sunday, with a rapidly rising barometer. Conditions improved on Monday. Variable breezes have prevailed since, and changeable" weather today, but unsettled with rain on the West "*! Coast of the South Island. Present in- . dications' are for freshening northerly £\ «n4>easterly winds, probably backing to •■. wrath-easterly shortly in the southern districts.
