COACH ACCIDENT.

THE HORSES RUN AWAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. One of the West Coast coaches to-day nearly met with a serious accident at Paddy's Bend, where a serious accident occurred a few weeks ago. The coach was descending a steep hill -when the break failed to act. The horses galloped on, and the coach swayed heavily, the driver (R. Goodge) being thrown off hi 9 seat. The horses continued their wild stampede until one fell and .broke its leg. (That acted as a check, and the coach was finally pulled up* Most of the passengers had dropped of! before, the driver fell, but none were seriously injured. The driver was rather badly cut about the head, and was brought to the Christchurch Hospital.
