THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— Strong and squally westerly and southerly winds blew last night, and heavy showers fell in parts, but the directions are variable to-day, and except on the West Coast and southernmost districts the weather has improved. The barometer rose last night, but has fallen in the south again to-day. Present in- . dieations s re for strong westerly and southerly winds and changeable weather -with showers in parts, especially on the West Coast aitd southern districts. A short squall area is likely to pass in the sooth soon, after which the barometer ' w3l rise again in the southern districts.
