Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday j we had our usual good entry of poultry.> Prices were well maintained, young ducks ' and cockerels being in good demand. We j quote: —Hens (old) Is 7d to Is 9d, young Is 8d to 2s 3d, pullets (young) 4d to 2s 2d, young cockerels Is Gd to Is lOd, chicks 3d to 9d, ducks 2s 3d to 2s sd, j hen and chicks 4s '3d. The usual line of auction sundries realised satisfactory prices. Fruit.—During the week this has been in good demand, heavy shipments of stone fruits coming forward from Nelson, Auckland and Hawke's Bay. Prices for the last week as under, varying according to quality and sizes of boxes:— Bananas (ripe) 2%d to 2>/j>d, oranges 20s fid, apples 17s to 18s fid, strawberries lOMid to Is 3d, raspberries fid lb, Sydney oranges 7s 9d, plums (Wright's Early) 3s 3d to 4s 3d, dessert apples Is 9d to 2s 9d, apricots 3s fid to ss, tomatoes (241bs) 10s to 12s, 121bs 5s fid to 6s 9d, Burbank plums 2s to 2s Gd, pears 2s 6d, cherry plums 2s fld to 3s, Japanese plums Is fid, cucumbers fis 9d dozen. L. A. NOLAN & CO.'S REPORT. Poultry.—On Saturday we penned a good entry in all classes. Prices showed an improvement on previous week's. We quote: Hens (fat) Is lid to 2s 4d, ordinary Is 5d to is lOd, cockerels (small) 7d to Is 5d (no full-grown offering; roosters Is 4d to 2s fid, pullets 2s 3d, ducks Is 0d to 2s, ducklings Is Id to Is Od, chickens 5d to Bd. In the mart we disposed of a large assortment of groceries on account of the trustees of T. W. White. Prices were to vendors' satisfaction. Fruit.—During the week we have handled large consignments daily. Peaches and plums are now in full supply. There is a scarcity of raspberries and black currants, and high prices are expected for these lines. The market up to the present has been very firm, good prices being obtained for all lines. We quote: Peaches, No. 1 4s 6d to 5s 3d, No. 2 3s 9a to 4s 6d, No. 3 3s 6d to 4s; plums, English (18lb cases] 4s fid to ss, Japanese (half cases) 4s fid to os, 181 b cases 2s fid to 3s; pears, Beacons (181b cases), 3s 9d; nectarines 6s fid to 7s 9d, tomatoes 5d to 8d per lb, black currants 8s fid, apricots (181b cases) fis fid, apples (inferior) 2s to 2s 9d, green peas 7d per peck. • <i LOCAL MARKETS. Butchers' Meat. Beef: Sirloin, 6d; prine ribs, fid; rump steak, 8d; beef ffoja 3d to 6d; corned beef, 4d and si. Mutton: Legs 6d; chops, 6d; l*in, sd; shoulders, 5d per lb; necks, 3d. Veal, 3d to 5d per lb. Sausages: Beef, <54, perk Bd. Lamb: Legs, 6d; f«re<juarters, 4s 6d; hindquarters, 5s fid. P6rk': Freqh 7 and 6d per lb. Fowls, 5a to 8e per pair; ducks, 6s per pair.
