EMPIRE THEATRE,

"THE ACTUAL DELHI DURBAR."

The management of the Empire Theatre has grasped the substance in the shape of the actual ceremony at the Delhi Durbar, taken specially for Fuller's Pictures. It includes many fine views of the native troops assembled to do honor to the King and Emperor. The closing scene shows the King enthroned and receiving the homage of the native princes. There is a very clear representation of an incideht which his since been the subject of a good deal of comment, the Gaekwar of Baroda turning his back on King George instead of retiring backward, in accordance with cprrect procedure. This act caused considerable comment, and an attempt was made by the Gaekwar to explain away his conduct. "The Durbar" will be repeated t6night. Another picture that proved most j popular was the "Axemen's Carnival at Eltham," on Boxing Day, A very clear result has been obtained—even the grain of the wood and the marks of the axe are "sharp," while the delineation of the features of the competitors and other people who came into prominence is all that could be desired. Not the least interesting portion of the series is that showing scenes on the grounds,, with the crowded grandstands, people seated therein being quite easily picked out, the Eltham Brass Band' in full blast, and various humorous snap-shots. In one of these pictures the "Glory of Taranaki" stands out with beautiful prominence. Some picturesque bits of Taumata Park, and a very pretty view of the river at the back are included. An altogether fine film concludes with a tableau, "Preparing to feed the hungrv champions." These two star items will be repeated again to-night, with the full supporting programme. ■ >
