TIRED OF A FORTRESS.
ALLEGED SPY'S RUSE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Berlin, January 16. Lieutenant Trench, who is imprisoned in a fortress for espionage, apparently attempted suicide. He was found hanging in the fortress by a warder, who cut him down unhurt. Authorities are convinced that it was a sham attempt. Trench hoping to be transferred to a hospital with a view of escaping.
