Lloyd's Register says there were 700 steamers totalling 1,782,908 tons, 72 sailing vessels of 20,396 tons, and 50 warships of 230,786 tons, launched in the United Kingdom during 1911. FATAL ICE ACCIDENT. Berlin, January 15. The breaking of the ice at Emden caused a large number of skaters to be precipitated into the river. Twentyseven bodies have been recovered.
