The Osterley wirelessly reports passing the Spomliluh, a tank steamer, afire in the Indian Ocean, and abandoned. The crew previously were saved. The .Spondiluh was insured for £87,500. She carries two and three-quarter million gallons of benzine, worth an additional £50,000.
