GERMAN ELECTIONS.
INCREASE IN SOCIALIST VOTE. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Berlin, January 15. The Socialists claim that they polled 4,225,000 votes, an increase of 005,000 over last election. The Party__ offers to help any candidate against the Centre Party, on condition that he resists any alteration in the Reichstag franchise and fresh taxation on articles of general consumption. No pledge is required as to expenditure on the army and navy. SOCIALISTS' GREAT GAINS. Received 16, 11.30 p.m. Berlin, January 16. The Socialists polled 4,238,000 votes, the Centre Party 2,012,000, the National Liberals 1,671',010, the Radicals 1,556,000, and the Conservatives 1,159,000, out of a total of 12,188,000 votes.
