BALLOONISTS' ADVENTURE. ACROSS THE CARPATHIANS. A RECORD FLIGHT. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Received 15, 11 p.m. Paris, January 15. Duconnet and Dupont ballooned from Plamette Brouil to Sokolowska, in Russia, 50 metres beyond the record. They crossed the Carpathians at a height of ten thousand feet. The flight occupied 29 hours 55 minutes, and was finished in a rainstorm, during which the thermometer registered 4 cleg, below zero (fahrenheit). When they alighted no habitation was in sight, and their provisions were frozen. They were foodless for three days. They were obliged to leave the balloon, but saved the basket and instruments.
