A Board of Trade enquiry reveals a systematic practice of over-insurance of shipping, whereto point is given by the foundering,of the Cardiff steamer Dunsley, which was over-insured at £9BOO.
The Court found the loss due to default of the manacrinrr VAvner. the master and the engineers. The former was fined £ISOO towards the cost of the enquiry. The master was suspended, and the engineers fined.
