ARRIVED. Suva, Jan. 13.—Arrived, Fiona, from Sydney. Sailed, Makura, for Auckland. THE PETONE. The Petone, of the Canterbury Shipping Company's fleet, arrived in port on Friday night from Newcastle, after a rather rough trip across. After medical and Customs inspection on Saturday, the vessel proceeded with the discharge of her cargo of 720 tons of coal,, the main portion of which is for Messrs. Borthwick & Co., of the Waitara Freezing Works. The Petone sailed on Saturday afternoon for Wanganui with the balance of her cargo. It is probable that further cargoes of coal from Newcastle will be landed at this port. THE ROSAMOND. j The Rosamond arrived from Onehunga on Saturday morning, and after loading a small'quantity of cargo sailed for Wellington. At the close of the year ended June 30, 1911, 10,400 merchant vessels, registering over 21 million tons gross, held classes assigned bv the committee of Lloyd's Register. Of these 0508 are registered under the British flag, and have a total weight of 13,OS!).840 tons. There are new recorded at Lloyd's 1013 vessels fitted with wireless telegraphic installations, and 566 with submarine signalling apparatus. OVERSEA VESSELS.
