N.S.W.'S SPEAKER.
AND THE CHIEF OF. HANSARD,
By Cable—Press Association—Copyright, Received 12, 10.30 p.m. Sydney, January 12.
A large mass of correspondence was submitted to the Royal Commission of enquiry into the dispute of Mr. Speaker, Willis and Mr. Robinson, head of the Hansard staff. In the course of a lengthy statement, Mr. Willis said Mr. Robinson had been in the habit of controlling previous Speakers, and members objected to him exercising authority over the Speaker. Mr. Robinson's suspension rested upon his insubordination in not carrying out instructions regarding the writing of letters derogatory, belittling and disrespectful to the head of his department. Mr. Robinson read a long reply, claiming that he had not flouted" the Ppesker. but bad implicitly obeyed all his instructions. The enquiry adjourned.
