NEW PLYMOUTH. Mails will close (subject to alteration) at the Chief Post Office, New Plymouth, as follows: , v For Wellington and South, also Auckland and North, daily, per mail train, at 6.15 ajn. u.&&& THURSDAY, JANUARY 11. For Rarotonga, Tahiti, United States of America, West Indies, Central America, Canada, United Kingdom, and specially addressed correspondence for Europe, via San Francisco, at 6.15 a.m. (Due London February 12). FRIDAY, JANUARY 12. For Tasmania, via Bluff, at 6.15 a.m. Due Hobart January 18. For Auckland and North, per Rarawa, at 7 p.m. SATURDAY, JANUARY 13. For Australian States (due Sydney January 19), at 6.15 a.m. DEFERRED CABLE MESSAGES. All previous announcements concerning deferred cable messages are cancelled, and the following is substituted:— The only countries to which deferred cable messages at half rates may be sent as from Ist January are Great Britain, Germany, France, Portugal, Algeria, Tunis, and all places in British Dominions throughout the world where full rate is not less than tenpence perword, except Australia, Egypt, Soudan and Northern Rhodesia.
