THE ASKOY WRECK.
• — ■ — «» _ CAPTAIN'S STATEMENT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. */■ Sydney, January 10. Captain Morner, of the Askoy, states that he was picked up 120 miles from the wreck, after travelling two days. He adds little to the story of the wreck. He states that there mus have been a srong current, which carried the vessel on the reef. While on the reef the vessel was surrounded by enormous sharks, which were close enough to be struck by the men. The only inconvenit ence experienced in the small boat was from the hot sun. Luckily the weather was fine, as the boat was too small to have outlived a storm.
