SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— Changeable weather has prevailed, scattered showers falling in the night, but conditions improved to-day. Southeasterly and easterly winds; have predominated, strong to gale, in the North Island last night. The barometer has 'fanes, in the southern districts. Present indications are for moderate to strong sooth-easterly winds in the north and ■■ variable easterly and northerly winds in tie South. Island. The weather is likely to be'changeable generally and at tones in the South Island. A falling 'barometer is probable southwards of Farewell Spit and Castlepoint, but unsteady at present elsewhere.
