A six-year-old boy, named McC&uley, met with a serious accident at South Dunedin to-dky. SAWMILL HAND HURT. . . Hokitika,"Last Night. -A young man named Fred Thompson, aged twenty years, met with a serious . accident to-day at the Westland Sawmilling Company's mill at Flowery, Creek. It appears that, he was crushed between the buffers of two timber trucks, and he was injured internally, but the extent is not yet ascertainable. The unfortunate man was brought into Hokitika for medical attention, where he is progressing satisfactorily. DEATH FROM PNEUMONIA. f Gisborne, Last Night. At .the inquest to-day on the body of the young man, John William Wo«d, V 28 years of age, found sitting dead in an outbuilding, the medical evidence was to the effect that death was due to inflamed condition of deceased's left lung, due to pneumonia, and accelerated by the diseased condition of the internal organs. There were also evidences of extreme alcoholic, habits. Ft was staled thatf; deceased was to have started work that • morning, but after having a drink he returned to whore he was staying, expressing the determination to lav down. A verdict was returned according to the medical evidence.' '■■■■.
