THREE CLERKS TIED UP. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. New York, January 5. Two unmasked men at Redding, California, robbed the north-bound Oregon express belonging to the Southern Pacific Company. The men forced an entrance near Red Bluff, bound and gagged the three mail clerks, and then at Weir leisure rifled the sacks of mails. The robbers escaped with a large amount of booty. The mail clerks were found buried beneath torn sacks. SHERIFF POSSES OUT: Received 7, 5.5 p.m. New York, January 6. Sheriffs' posses are scouring the country to capture the person responsible for tbe Oregon express train robbery. It transpires that only one robber operated. A reward of £4OO is offered for his capture.
