I forgot the time last night,' so only' keeping eight. Jan. 4.—Eight stout resolutions: though I swore-by-heaven, "Two to one' tempted me, and noyt I've only seven. ~ .-» _-„., .*, . Jan. s.—Seven resolutions. Tbise I im&n to fix, But a game of bridge last nightf ! leaves me only six. Jan. 6.—Six big resolution, I would alive* ■ ' But the-girl I met last night left"me'.' only five. Jan. 7—Five grim resolutions; I can-keep no more. Someone gave me a cigar, and now I have but four.
