SUICIDE AT DUNEDIX. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin. January 4. Wm. Johnston, aged 67, a retired boxmaker, hanged himself yesterday afternoon at St. Kilda.. He was a married m<:ii with a small family. BODY FOUND IN DOMAIN. Auckland, Last Night. The body of a man named James Dawson, 38 years of age, who had been missing from his lodgings since Tuesday, was found in the Domain this morning. The man had apparently been duad some time, and prior to his disappearance had complained of pains in the head. BODY FOUND AFLOAT. Auckland, Last Night. The body of a man named William Brown, who was drowned when going aboard the Opawa at the .Railway wharf on Thursday night last week, was found this morning floating in the water alongside the Calliope Dock. FOUND DROWNED. Christchurch, Last Night, An inquest was held to-day on the body of John Goston, an aged man, who was found drowned in the Avon River on Wednesdiay. (Evidence was given as to the finding of the body in three feet of water. Dr. Symes, who examined the body, attributed, death to drowning, ami that deceased' would have had no power of recovery with his heart in the condition revealed by the examination. Deceased's wife could not account for him getting into the river. He had not heen depressed. The Coroner returned a verdict that deceased was found drowned and there was no evidence to show how he got into the water.
A BOY KILLED. Auckland, Last Night. Thomas Seavill, the eldest son of Walter Savill, of Waingaro, aged 8 l / a years, was thrown froni a horse and killed this morning. , ! INQUEST. Auckland. Last Night. An inquest on the body of William Andrews, drowned in the Ongarue river, was held to-day. A verdict of accidentally drowned, with no blame attachable to anyone, was returned. HEART FAILURE. Auckland, Last Night. An elderly man named Thomas Britton died suddenly when being conveyed to Wairoa hospital. Deceased had been ill about a week. The cause of death was heart failure. DEATH IN A TRAIN. Dunedin, Last Night. A man named James Corrigal, of Lauder, died suddenly in the first express from North to-day, Shortly after the train had passed Palmerston. Heart failure is supposed to be the cause of death. A BOY BUN OViER. Rotorua, Last Night. An accident occurred to-day to a boy named Jack Batten, eight years old, son of F. :H. Batten, dentist. 'lie fell off a coach and was run over. His leg was lacerated, but no bones were broken.
