Dr. Sun-Yat-Sen was enthusiastically (welcomed at Nanking, and saluted by 21 'guns. He swore to dethrone the Malleus, and then resign, enabling the people to select a president of a United China. The new calendar was proclaimed at Nanking as from January I (New Yean* Day).
