A BODY FOUND. By Telegraph —Press Association. Christchurch,. Wednesday. The body of a man, about 68 years of I age, was found in the River Avon this; morning. It has not been identified. I DEATH FROM A FALL. i Westport, Wednesday. A post-mortem showed that a fractured skull was the cause of the death of Norman, the letter-carrier who died while on a cycling tour on the Buller road. Apparently he had- a fall and said i nothing of i*. HUMAN REMAINS FO,UND, , | Palmerston North, Last Night. The police yesterday discovered some' human remains, wrapped up in a blanket;, on 'Foxton road. Medical examination! revealed that the bones, which included a skull and leg bones, were very old, an# were those of a Maori, andit is surmised that they were left by Maoris when b£ing conveyed from one cemetery to another. OLD MAN'S SUICIDE, Dunedin, Last Night. A man named George Horton, aged 71 years, was found this afternoon hanging by the neck at the rear of his residence in Castle street. He was_ then dead. Apparently it,is a case of suicide. BODY RECOVERED. Auckland, Last, Night. The body of William Andrews, who was drowned on Christmas Day while crossing the Ongarue river when ih flood, in a Maori canoe, has been recovered. j The deceased had been employed on railway construction works.
