SUMMARY AND FORECAST. K» P*legraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. TV Meteorological Office has issued thf following summary and forecast:— The winds backed to westerly and northerlv on Sunday, increasing generally, v'th falling barometer in most parts. V,i.- direction changed to southerly this irnming in southern half of the South I-i;:nd, a small low pressure area passing i" the south last night. Rain has fallen on the West Coast and in the southern districts, and cloudy and hazing condit;ons have ruled generally, but conditions hare unproved to-day. The forecast and present' indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds, backing to westerly and increasing southward of Westport and Kaikoura, and in freshening northerly and westerly winds elsewhere, for another low pressure area is due to pass in the south shortly. Warm and hazy conditions are probable on the east coast, but more unsettled weather will follow, especially over the South Island.
