HOULDER LINE DEADLOCK. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. London, December 28. The union leaders at Newport are powerless to secure the recognition of the agreement in connection with the loading of the Houlder Line boats. The unionists refuse to allow Houlder's men to join the union. Police protection has been demanded for loading the steamer Canadian Transport.
COTTON STRIKE. Received 20, 10.10 p.m. London, December 20. The cotton strike threatens to idle five thousand Liverpool warehousemen. MINERS' TROUBLES. Received 20, 10.10 p.m. London, December 20. Two thousand miners at Treorchy (Wales) struck against the employment of unionists. The South Wales Miners' Federation recommend balloting, and favor a national stoppage unless a minimum wage is arranged in the meantime.
