The Daily Telegraph's Shanghai correspondent reports that the revolutionaries lured Prince Min. who is very wealthy, and who was formerly Crown Prince of Korea, from his hotel in the French concession and compelled him to sign a big cheque for the revolutionary fund. DOWAGER EMPRESS MAY ABDICATE. Pekin, December 28. The Dowager Empress, the Manchn Princes, and Yuan-Shili-Kai have decided to accept a fresh conference on a wider basis than that at Shanghai, and to abide by its decisions. This is interpreted to mean that the Crown is willing to abdicate. JAPAN FRIENDLY. Tokio, December 28. The Emperor, in opening the Diet, emphasised Japan's friendliness towards the Powers. The Cabinet had decided not to place any obstacles in the way of the formation of a Chinese Republic if the conference insists on that step. THE REPUBLIC. A PRESIDENT ELECTED.
