T!v Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— Tli.! <•* ntre of a cyclone passed over the cotr.il.rv during last night, when heavy ri':i fell in many parts, especially in (":• west coast districts of the North l*!:md and the east coast of the South. 1 ■ ,oded rivers were reported in parts < '. the latter districts this morning. The v. lads have changed to southerly to-day, r.oderate to strong generally. Present indications are for a rising barometer and moderate to strong southerly winds, squally in parts. Rain is probably on the east coast southward of East Cape and cold changeable and showery conditions elsewhere, but there are prospects of an early improvement.
