CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER
ALLEGED NEGLIGENT MOTOR DRIVING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. At the conclusion of the enquiry into the death of John Alexander McConnell, killed in a motor car accident a few days ago, the jury returned a verdict finding that the driver of the motor, Rhodes Battye, had, by negligent driving, caused the death of deceased. At the conclusion of the inquest Battye was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
