PETROLEUM NEWS.

Shareholders of the Taranaki PetrO' leum Company will not need to be veminded that to-day is the 29th.

From enquiries at the office last night we ascertained' that the staff had been very busily engaged' during the whole of the day. The mail was unusually heavy, whilst a large number of telegrams was received. There was also a large number of callers. ;

The adjourned' meeting of the Inglewood Oil Company was held in the Town Hall last evening, Mr. T. Furlong being in the chair. The report and balancesheet were adopted. Tin? retiring three directors—Messrs Aliier, Ramson, and Elwin—were re-elected, and Mr. H. Baily re-appointed auditor. A vote of thank* to the chairman and directors for the work they did during the year concluded the meeting.
