THE CONGRESS AT NAPIER. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. At the chess congress in the first round, Mason beat James, Grierson beat Miles, Connell beat Jourdain, Gyles beat Siiinsbury, Severne beat Jones.
The game between Dicks and Kelling was unfinished when the second draw was made, and was adjourned l till Saturday. • In the second round Grierson beat Sainsbury, and Gyles beat Connell.
The following games were unfinished when the evening session closed:* —James v. Kelling, Mason v. Hicks, Miles t. Severne, Jourdain v. Jones. •
