A man named Minsrler, his wife and a bank clerk named Champion were arrested for swindling Carpentier. a Spaniard, of £48.000 on the pretext of founding a hank; also of £20,000 from the sale of Carpcnticr's property at Buenos Ayres. A SPIRITUALISTIC SWINDLE. Received 23. 12.35 a.m. Paris, December 22. Rene Etienne was arrested at Rntenil for defrauding Fontaine, a wealthy manufacturer, of £40,000 by spiritualistic practices.
