IMPERIAL UNITY

REPLENISHING THE COLONIES. WITH DRAFTS OF ENGLISH BOYS. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Received 21. 10.30 p.m. London, December 21. Lord Dudley, speaking at Worcester, caid the greatest security for Imperial unity and colonial adhesion lay in continually sending the best boys, soundly educated, to the colonial dependencies. Be did not suggest that there was a likelihood of deterioration in the colonies, but considering Australia was fifteen thousand miles away it was likely, unless there was an influx of new British blood, there might be a danger of a separate type. It was impossible to conceive that people so far separated would remain closely knit in customs, views and development, especially as they were climatically different, without the infusion of a British strain. He believed this point was fully recognised overseas.
