British Association Football Conference lias adopted a series of resolutions with the object of popularising and improving the standard of play, including regiular inter-State and interDominion matches, holding a carnival at Melbourne at an early date, it was also resolved that the time was opportune for the formation of an Australian Council. A committeo was appointed to draft the constitution of the council. In view of the opinions expressed it appeared that New Zealand did not desire inclusion in the council. CONFERENCE IN SYDNEY. Received 18, ilO p.m. Sydney, December IS. A conference adopted the recommendations in favor of securing uniformity in the appointment and 'examination of referees, and the securing of a visit from an English team. The conference adjourned till Thursday, when the committee presents a report on the proposed Australian council control. New Zealand' standing separate.
