HUDDERSFIELD BELLRINGERS' BAND. The above named band, which visit New Plymouth on Friday next. December 23, play a monster peal of 225 bells, ranging from a few ounces to 201b. The manipulation requires great skill. Those with the small bells will have twenty to thirty bells to watch, and the bass bells, which weigh 101b to 181b, are not so easy to handle as they look, when one ringer has ten to sixteen to watch. Tt requires wrists of steel, and in some of the more difficult sections it is a great strain. The whole art is summed up in a nutshell by saying it take ten men to make one, as they have to be in perfect harmony with another. Every man must be an artist. The band is assisted by several well-known English artists, and, notwithstanding the expenso of the importation, the management intend to adhere to the popular prices, 3s, 2s and Is, which should ensure them a packed house here. The box plan is at Collier's. ~" I
