Hitch will be unable to play in tomorrow's test match, as he is suffering from a strained muscle in the thigh. The Daily Telegraph says that the test match will probably develop into a test of endurance.
NEW PLYMOUTH-v. INGLEWOOD. This match, which was played at Carrington road, resulted in a win for Inglewood by 25 runs. New Plymouth only mustered seven men, and scored 69 runs, Price 17, Whittle 15, Legg 13 and Ingram 11. Inglewood scored 94, F. Thompson being the highest scorer with 24. STRATFORD v. ELTHAM. (From our Stratford correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night. The Stratford eleven journeyed to Eltham to-day, and were defeated by 68 to 48. Dunlop 15, E. Jackson 10, Prebble 9 and Slurp 4 not out were Stratford's best, and Sullivan 40 and Fearon 10 batted best for Bltham. Stewart bowled best for Eltham and Boyes and Dunlop for Stratford.
