Rise, one of the four members of the Australasian team for the Davis Cup match, arrived in Chrifltchurch today. Dunlop, the remaining member, is expected here next Tuesday morning by the Maheno. B. M. Kidston, wlio has been selected to practise with the Australasian iteam, came over from Sydney with Rice.

J. C. Peacoek, the New Zealand singles champion, came down from Wellington this morning, with the view of practising for tire: New Zealand championships.

Brookes and Heath, of the Australasian team, are putting in regular practice on Mr. W. Goes' courts ait MerivaJe, and on the United Club's courts in Hagley Park. Larned, Benls C. Wright and McLoughTin, the Americans, are practising steadily on the' courts prepared for their use a.t Sunnyside. Applications for reserved seats have been received from various parts-of New South Wales,, Victoria, Tasmania, Townsvillc, Rockhampton, and Adelaide, and from ail parts of the New Zealand, from Auckland to the Bluff, and it is evident that the gathering of tennis enthusiasts in Christchurch during the coming holidays will be very representative. Sir Joseph Ward and Lady Ward have intimated their intention of being present.

ST. ANDREW'S v. W.Y.M.I. From our Stratford correspondent.) Stratford, Last Night The St. Andrew's and W.Y.M.I. clubs played a match to-day on the latter's courts. The scores were as follow, St. Andrew's being mentioned first: — Men's Singles.—Marshall 5 v. Cameron' 7; Kivell 3 v. Thompson 7; Douglas 7 v. King 4; Willson 2v. Jones 7; Anderson 7 v. Schofield 6; Syme 7 v. Eve rigs 5. Men's Doubles.—Marshall and Kivell 3 v. Cameron and Thompson 9; Douglas and Wilson 8 v. King and Jones fl; Anderson and Syme 9 v. Schofkld and Everiss 5.
