The Federal Ministers support Admiral Henderson's view that ,the Australian naval station should be Australasian, with New Zealand contributing to the fleet and represented on the NaVal Board. Mr. Fisher states that an Australasian navy is inevitable, but says: "We don't intend to press our views on New Zealand, and the advance must be of tlwir free will. The GoYernment holds the view that before long New Zealand and Australia will be linked together in control of a joint navy. ANOTHER TRAGEDY. Melbourne, December 13. A shooting tragedy has taken place at Albert Park, in which Joseph Pfeffer shot his sister-in-law, Florence Whitley, dead. He had been paying unwelcome attentions for a considerable time, to the girl, and recently she sought police protection. Pfeffer entered the house where Whitley was employed as she was sitting at dinner. The mistress of the house was alarmed, and rushed out, and the shooting immediately followed.
