The Englishmen have returned to j Brisbane, and the team has been selected for the first test match on Friday. Warner is improving, and hopes to leave his bed on Friday. Gunn thinks he will be able to play in the test match, but will take no risks. He will thoroughly test his hands at the nets prior to the match.
The senior matches set down for to-1 day, weather permitting, are Urenui v. Waitara, at Waitara, and New Plymouth v. Inglewood, at the Sports Ground. New Plymouth will be represented by the following:—H. J. Price, A. S. Hasell, W. C. Weston, E. Whittle, A. Morey, W. Legg, W. P. Nicoll, D. Gordon, E. Ingram, E. Lash, and A. Bewley. The following will play for Fire Brigade against High School on the latter's ground this afternoon, play to start at 2.30: W. Roch, J. Best, L. Bullot, W. Gunson, I. Bullot, L. Brabant, B. Bullot, j C. Brown, G. Wigley, B. Petty, and Gleeson.
