TO-DAY'S CONFLICTS.
1 THE SECOND BALLOTS. THE CONTESTANTS. Politically considered to-day is much more interesting than last Thursday, for it is to be finally decided whether tke present Government shall' remain in power. The chances of the very numerous candidates who are to go to a second ballot have been widely discussed during the past week, and it is probable their personal anxiety is greater than that of their supporters and political enemies. The position last Thursday was as foli lows: — MINISTERIALISTS 22 OTHER PARTIES 25 Made up of MINISTERIALISTS 21 INDEP. LIBERAL 1 CONSERVATIVE 24 / INDEP.
