A CHILD KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, Tuesday. A native child named Wi Haureti, aged 12, was killed by a fall of earth near Nulla ka. A DROWNINGS CASE. Wellington, Tuesday. At the inquest concerning the death of Robert Dobson, who was frowned while bathing at Lyall Bay on Sunday, evidence showed that Edward Levy, captain of the surf club, made several attempts to rescue the drowning man,, who got excited and pulled his rescuer I under water. Levy signalled to the shove, but apparently the signals were not semi. The verdict. returned was "accidentally drowned," the coroner commending LcVy for his plucky attempt at rescue. FOUND DROWNED. Auckland, Last Night. John MacFarlane, formerly manager for the Hokianga Sawmill Co. at Koliukohu, was found drowned in the Waihou river to-day. KNOCKED DOWN BY A TRAM. Wellington, Last Night. Henry Richard Tolley was knocked down in Willis street to-day .by a tramcar and suffered concussion and wounds in the head. He was admitted to the hospital in a semi-conscious condition.
