HOMES AND FACTORIES.
A ROYAL COMMISSION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 13. 12.5 a.m. Sydney, December 12. A Royal Commission is enquiring into housing conditions and factory work. Several doctors gave the opinion that labor in factories was deleterious to the health of girls generally, and one stated it was amongst the greatest pauses of immorality, especially where the «exes were mixed. Another said that when girls were earning good wages they did not desire to marry. Where they did marry they did not desire children because they prevented them from returning to work.
