RAILWAY MISHAP.
TRUCK ON FIRE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gore, Last Night. A somewhat exciting incident was witnessed in the Gore railway yard yesterday. When.shunting, arn engine was seen racing at tremendous speed for the water tank, one of the attached trucks being on fire. It transpired that the truck contained cases of petrol, one of which was evidently leaking. A spark from the engine set the truck afire. At the water tank water was applied to th,» truck, with ths effect only of spreading the flames. Ultimately it was extinguished with shovels, gravel and sand, and practically no damage, but if the other trucks had caught fire there was a possibility of a dangerous explosion.
