A Concert.—The pupils of Mr. R. ii Neville Renaud gave a very enjoyable concert in St. Mary's Hall last Monday evening, and the audience warmly applauded every item. A criticism on the performers has already been given, so I will just give a description of the dresses. It will, however, be somewhat curt, as it is very difficult to describe a lady's frock when sitting down. J The G.F.S.—The Girls' Friendly society held a "grand finale" to this year's proceedings in St. Mary's Hall last Tuesday evening, and a very pleasant time was spent in music and games. Speeches were made by the Rev. J. Wilkinson and Mr. ]l. Fookes. After a dainty supper the whole proceedings were 'brought to a close with everybody singing the National Anthem.
