A BUTCHER'S SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Friday. Phillip Greenskde, a butcher at Papanui, shot himself with, a gun yesterday. He had been out of work and despondent for some time. He was* 58 years of age. INQUEST. Christchurch, Last Night. At the inquest on Philip Greenslade, who was found dead yesterday with' a gun alongside him, the evidence showed that deceased had been out of work and worried. A verdict of suicide whilst teniporaritfL insane was A DROWNING ACCIDENT. Wanganui, Last Night. A drowning accident happened to-day in the river opposite Landguard bluff, two miles below the town. Chkrles Wood, carpenter, married, had been in town at the election the previous day, and had celebrated the occasion. This morning he went to work at Mitchell arid Company's new freezing works, but it was deemed advisable to.send him home by launch. As the boat was leaving, when the other men were in the engine room, Wood apparently fell off and was drowned. Dragging operations were unsuccessful.
